Re: Carrera Ferrari 365 P2

As for MJK tyres on Carrera classic racers, I could get the 21 x 7mm (Ninco classic size 4214 I think) ones to fit on the Carrera AC Cobra. Its wheel had a large centre step that meant the MJKs sat up off the rim. To remedy, I mounted the tyres inside out on another wheel to spin like a lathe, and u...

Re: Carrera Shelby Cobra

A tip for tyre changing I have the white hard top version of Carrera's Cobra and run at home on painted timber, no magnets. I replaced the tyres with MJK ones that fit Ninco classics. To make them fit they need to be turned inside out and have an extra 1mm of urethane sanded/filed out of the step. (...

Re: Carrera Lola T222

I notice that the rear tyres are not as wide as the earlier released Mclaren and Porsche Can Am efforts. Maybe this will make it easier to find alternative tyres like MJKs for board tracks. Re: Holden Torana L34 Brock - Sampson

With my Bob Morris L34, I changed the rear tyres to MJK Mustang ones. I changed the front tyres to worn out SCX rally, not an exact fit but this did drop the guide deeper down into the slot. I also added a chunk of metal as weight near the rear axel. This combination has stopped the front launching ...

Re: Carrera McLaren M20 - initial set up for non magnet raci

This appears to be turning into quite a saga. The longer you have to spend tweaking this car, the more reluctant some of us will be to buy one. Hopefully your efforts will have shaved valuable tenths off your lap times. Who knows, may be the Can Am Porsche won't have so many foibles.

Re: Carrera McLaren M20 - initial set up for non magnet raci

Given it may be a while for urethane tyres to come onto the market, have you considered swapping the rear axel and wheels to Slot.it or Ninco to accommodate existing urethane sizes. I like the look of this car, but I am wary of buying one if I can't make it manageable on my tight timber 2 lane track...
