Re: Slot Car Journal Updated

I have a new use for an existing machine (lathe) - removing flash from home made tires. http://home.fuse.net/SCJ/TireSander/TireFlashRemoval.html I have to keep up with you down under (or is it over the top?) people. I love this site to look, listen and be inspired by. Americans of the USA variety a...

Re: Monoplace Protoslot Brabham

In the USA I had UPS (United Parcel Service) "deliver" a rotary table for my milling machine but it was gone from my porch. I filed a complaint, called a million times, the seller turned it over to the FBI -- voila, suddenly it is delivered by UPS. The box may have been opened or had reall...

Re: New guides for old - a Carrera story!

Even though I am hurt about the Yank Tank comment [You guys would die to have a 454 Chevy or a 426 Hemi - don't lie, tell the truth] - I am going to take the high road, turn the other cheek, and compliment the fine job!

Re: Where are the NSR's on the OUTHOUSE??

The solution to the controller problem is for the house to supply the controllers. I supply Parmas. For a short time I went to PMs but soon went back.

The NSRs are almost thingie class to me.

Re: My newest and possibly my best.

I did get one of the Mazdas. I have been doing penance. Lovely car and will be patient and wait to see if another appears. Congratulations. There are two Dans who watch like a hawk -- me and a Canadian.

Re: My newest and possibly my best.

Verne,

I think you are the man I hate. Someone beat me by one email to Bruce at Cincyslots for that Matra. Now I must go to confession for the sins of covetousness, greed, and hatred of my fellow slotter.    :-) :( :o  :? 8)

Re: Slotcars we dream of

I was just thinking of the Shadow series of cars and would like them in true 1/32. Any Brabham would be good as well.

As a yank, I would like to buy that car, when the recession (economic disaster) ends here in the USA.

Re: Urethane tyre treatment

I am retreading urethanes with a softer compound of the same. You can do it at least twice - I have done than many. I am going to try s later when I get more material.

Re: Urethane tyre treatment

Those were my findings as well. Here is a tidbit that I discovered. If you cast your own tires, cast them in two stages. In the first casting cast them in a hard shore urethane like Reoflex 40 or 50. Grind them down and make them round then put them back in the mold and cast/recap them with reoflex ...

Re: My Tyre Truer

The spindle moves up and down as it rotates at 1 speed (?). This is a woodshaping tool that I use quite often. The speed for our purposes is controlled by the diameter of the drum on the sander. I use the smallest drum as that makes the wheels spin at the lowest speed. If you want more speed change ...

My Tyre Truer

Being a yank, I spell it tire in the following article: http://home.fuse.net/SCJ/TireSander/tiretruer.html

This does a great job - much better than the traditional methods.
