Is this car a 908/2??

Post by Cyph »

Fly Porsche.jpg
Reason I ask is I need to get a new chassis for it, but I'm unsure what exactly it is, apart from knowing its a Porsche 908 of some variant.

Cheers,

Yeah, it's the Escuderia Repsol one.

I bought this probably 2 years ago at Red Racer!

I uh, trimmed a little TOO much off the chassis... so just replacing the chassis. I'm looking on Scalexworld, all they offer are two different chassis from Fly, one is for the 908, and one is for the 908/3. Is it the plain 908 one that will fit the 908/2?

Rob FLY called many of these cars just plain old 908 or 908 Flunder , as you know the 908/3 is shorter and then there is the 908 LH (longtail) also known as a `Flunder` which is longer, naturally.
FLY parts have 3 chassis available
79081 PORSCHE 908 FLUNDER CHASSIS
79055 PORSCHE 908 CHASSIS
79084 PORSCHE 908/3 CHASSIS
email Scalex World a pic of the car and ask if part 79055 fits it.
I am pretty sure it does, as the `Flunder` is longer , the 908/3 is shorter -and the other one has to be it.
hope this helps.
How`s the weather down there? - a bit chilly?
cheers

Hey Jordan,

Thanks for your help, I sent Scalexworld an email, see what they say!

Yeah, weather is getting a little bit cold, race nights = frozen hands, doh!

It's all good though. I'm sort of contemplating a possible trip up to QLD towards the end of the year, for the express purpose of coming up and doing some racing (oh, and I suppose I'll visit family etc)

Cheers,
